In-Store Insights Magazine - Issue 17 by POPAI UK & Ireland

One of the things you notice as you meet POPAI members at events is a shared belief that creativity, innovation and success comes from being better engaged. With economic pressures beginning to ease, this is no time for shrivelled ambition. There’s a big, inspiring world out there.

So for our first edition of 2014 we ventured out to find fresh inspiration and provide added momentum to help you tick off more of your new year’s list. We start by discussing the role of in-store in a post-recessionary retail environment (see page 4).

We’ve also been keeping a watchful eye on the techniques jewellery retailers are using to draw admiring glances (read our Sector Report on page 7).

We talk to Kate Drew, POS manager for Reckitt Benckiser. Her story in the months ahead is one of achieving cut-through, compliance and promoting global knowledge sharing (turn to page 16).

We also decided that now is the right time to turn the spotlight on some of our longest surviving brands (see page 13).

It acts as a timely reminder that innovation is not the sole preserve of the young and edgy, and that UK retail is very much alive and kicking.

Here’s to 2014: the year that optimism finally returns. So please ignore your inner pessimist, get out there and be inspired.
