The Nokia Maps Retail Video is a 60 second motion graphics loop that was designed to be played at branded Nokia stores and Nokia Preferred Partner (NPP) retailers in the UK and globally. It needed to play back on a range of hardware from small LCD panels integrated into Nokia "Flex bay" units to larger (40"+) plasma/LCD screens. It was also integrated into interactive touch screen displays at retail. The content was designed in 16:9 ratio. The primary version is English language but it is also designed as a text-less version so that it can be localized around the world. The content is designed to work with or without audio as that cannot be guaranteed in all retail locations. Limited assets and budget meant that the piece was created using existing static lifestyle photography and 3D elements created from scratch (icons, 3D phones).
