Christmas 2020 was a very different affair from most in living memory, with the pandemic once again taking its toll on age-old traditions.
With families and friends mixing still not allowed – with a few exceptions – and shopping still a somewhat haphazard experience, it was another unsettled feature on the usually reliable retail calendar.
Our report looks at how grocery retailers chose to promote Christmas in 2020, exploring which of them were in full Christmas spirit, and which were in bah-humbug mode.
